Operation

The standard 4-wheel drive is powered by the hydraulic system. The machine comes furnished with an 80 gallon hydraulic fluid reservoir with discharge and inlet filters, a 1500 W tank heater, low oil level alarm and high oil temperature alarm. The system uses seamless steel hydraulic lines with braided hose connections at the ends only. A heated operator cabin has windows on all sides, front windshield wiper and floor window. Operation is by two joysticks to operate the rake and foot pedals to operate the traverse function. One E stop is located in the operator's cabin and in other locations per customer request. If the operator is not seated the machine will cease to operate via an operator presence switch, or letting go of the joysticks stops all motion and the controls move quickly back to the center (neutral) position. At this time, Ashland Hydro Trash Rakes does not offer an automated system for several reasons. An owner cannot predict the type, quantity and speed of debris coming down the river. We manually operate our machine, with maximum efficiency, to pluck or guide debris to a sluice gate, thus preserving the operational flexibility.
